Observe and feed beautiful black bears and their cubs at the open-habitat Cherokee Bear Zoo, which is also home to deer, 800-pound grizzly bears, baby goats, tigers, monkeys and exotic animals such as lemurs, albino groundhogs and red raccoons. Kids will love feeding baby goats and deer at the petting zoo. The premises include a gift shop, ice cream shop and miniature golf course. Conveniently located in downtown Cherokee, the Cherokee Bear Zoo is open daily at 10 AM (weather permitting). Admission is $5 per person (ages 3 and under are admitted free).

To reach the Cherokee Bear Zoo from Gatlinburg, take 441 South through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Cherokee. Turn left at the third light. The Cherokee Bear Zoo lies less than 0.5 mile on the right (adjacent to the Burger King).
