Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

The friendly resort town of Pigeon Forge, once a quiet farm community, is home to Dollywood, a lively theme park founded by country superstar Dolly Parton that highlights the rich heritage of the Smoky Mountains. Tennessee's most visited theme park, Dollywood draws more than 2 million visitors a year and features thrilling rides, spectacular live shows and the work of master area craftspeople. Just down the road from the theme park lies Dollywood's Splash Country Water Adventure Park, full of exhilarating rides for all ages. Splash Country is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

Pigeon Forge also has become known for its wide range of live entertainment venues, which run the gamut from country music to bluegrass to gospel to rock 'n' roll to comedy. Choose from Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, Miracle Theater (formerly Louise Mandrell Theater), Black Bear Jamboree Dinner & Show, Comedy Barn Theater and much more! In addition, Pigeon Forge features spectacular mountain views, family-friendly restaurants, golf courses, waterslides, go-carts, bumper boats and, above all, genuine Southern hospitality. Attractions include the 1830 Old Mill, Pigeon Forge Gem Mine, Dinosaur Walk Museum, Kid's Country, Mountain Valley Vineyards, Boyds Bear Country, Carbo's Smoky Mountain Police Museum (featuring "Walking Tall" Sheriff Buford Pusser memorabilia!) and, of course, the Elvis Museum, which holds the world's largest private collection of Elvis memorabilia. Pigeon Forge also offers easy access to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for outstanding recreational opportunities such as whitewater rafting, hiking, backpacking and camping.

A true shopper's paradise, Pigeon Forge boasts some of the best outlet shopping in the South with more than 100 outlet stores. Annual events hosted by Pigeon Forge include the award-winning Winterfest Celebration with its dazzling light displays and holiday musical productions, as well as the Smoky Mountains Storytelling Festival in early February, Springfest starting in March and Smoky Mountains Harvest Festival starting in September.
