Founded in 1926 and operated by the Southern Highland Craft Guild, the Arrowcraft Shop features fine regional crafts, including pottery, woodcarvings, glass, jewelry, metal work, weaving and toys. Located across from Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, the Arrowcraft Shop is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM (December through April) with extended hours during the summer and fall. Other shops of the Southern Highland Craft Guild include the Parkway Craft Center along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Blowing Rock, North Carolina; Guild Crafts in Asheville, North Carolina; and Allanstand at the Folk Art Center along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, North Carolina.

Fine craftsmanship abounds in the Smoky Mountain area, especially along the Parkway that links Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. Start your search for genuine mountain crafts with a visit to the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, which was founded in 1937 and has evolved into the largest organization of independent artisans in the United States. Located just 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg on U.S. 321 North, the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community preserves the rich heritage of mountain crafts through various forms such as pottery, quilting, painting, woodcarving, weaving, broommaking, candlemaking and more. The 8.5-mile loop that comprises the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community contains numerous studios, shops and galleries - the perfect place to find one-of-a-kind, handcrafted gift items. The Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community presents three annual craft shows: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission is free to all shows.

JIM GRAY GALLERY

One of Tennessee’s most famous artists, Jim Gray has opened a number of galleries throughout the Smoky Mountain area, including a gallery in Pigeon Forge at 3331 South River Road. Gray works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture and drawing. The Jim Gray Gallery is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.
